Frequently Asked Questions

Q and A

What to Bring to Boarding?

Please bring your dog's food, a collar with a tag or your number on it, and medication (if needed). Food should be in zip lock bags or a closed container with your dog's name on it. If food needs to be refrigerated please let us know ahead of time. Food does not need to be portioned out, just make sure there is enough for the duration of their stay.  And of course, if you haven't yet, please send updated shot records. You can do that through the intake form, or text us a picture.

Should I Bring Toys/Beds/Bowls/Crates?

We prefer you don't. We have everything your dog will need and then some. Bringing personal items makes some dogs resource guard their items. We also can't guarantee you will get your items back.  However, if you really want to send their items with them, please add your pet's name to them.

Do You Send Pictures/Updates?

Absolutely! You will get pictures and text updates. If you would like more information or want more updates at any point, just ask us. If you are out of cell reception, or prefer not to receive texts, please let us know.

What About a Meet and Greet?

We don't require a meet and greet but we recommend scheduling a doggy day care for your dog to meet us and learn the routine. It can help anxious dogs feel more relaxed before staying over-night.

What Vaccines Do You Require?

All dogs must be current on their vaccines. We require they have rabies, distemper, and parvovirus. We highly recommend Bordetella (kennel cough). We have this vaccine on site and can administer them for an at-cost price.

What if My Dog Doesn't Get Along with Others?

If your dog doesn't get along with other dogs, or if they have a history of aggression or biting, please let us know. We are able to take them, we will just keep them separated from the other dogs.

What is the Process for Animal Care in My Home?

We meet you at your place, get acquainted with the animals and you show us the drill: how, when, and what you feed. We will come take care of your animals on the dates and times we agreed on. We offer overnight stays and drop ins.

Do You Offer Any Discounts?

Yes, we offer long-term boarding discounts, second dog discounts, and emergency boarding discount. We also offer discounts on a case-by-case basis.  Reach out to us directly to inquire about our client support program.

What is a Behavior Assesment?

If your dog is exhibiting aggressive, destructive, or otherwise challenging behavior, we conduct a behavior assesment. They come for the day, and we work with them on figuring out what the root cause of the issue is, and what tools would work best for your dog. Assessments include a follow up on-on-one session at pick-up and phone support for the month following the assessment.

Do You Charge a Cancellation Fee?

We don't charge a cancellation fee. Why? Because we understand life is hectic and things change. If you need to cancel your reservation, we don't charge a fee (even for same day). If you come back early, we just get paid for the time we cared for your pet, not the days we had scheduled.

How Do You Calculate Payment for Boarding?

We charge by night for a 24-hour period. If you drop your dog the morning of one day and pick up the morning of the next day that's $85/overnight rate. If you drop off in the morning of one day and pick up in the afternoon of the next day, an overnight rate and a day care stay rate is added. If dogs are picked up after 8:30pm the next day, an overnight rate is applied. Example, if drop off Monday morning and pick up Tuesday afternoon payment will be $85 (for the first 24hr period) and an additional $45 for the day stay on Tuesday. If dropped off Monday morning and picked up Tuesday morning the rate will just be $85.

We take venmo, zelle, cash, or check. If you need a receipt or invoice, please let us know. We are happy to provide you with one.
